Usual position / job on circuit

Track/incident marshal or Sector Marshal

How long have you been involved in Motorsport (Bikes/Cars/Karts etc)

Roughly 5 years, mostly bikes but do the odd kart meeting as well

Favourite circuit and sector if any

IOM TT course- Black Dub- a truly terrifying experience- somewhere that takes no prisoners if anyone dares not to show it any respect. Also like Oulton Park- really scenic and super quick.

Best moment in your motorsport career

Oulton Park fireball at BSB 2004- putting out the fireball from Vince Whittle’s bike whilst Bob Livesey was putting me out. TV does not do it justice- it wasn’t funny at the time. I also had a fire the day before at 3 sisters- typical, you never see a fire for years then two come at once…..

Worst moment in your motorsport career

Oulton Park in the rain at Druids- 30 riders down in one day. Never been as knackered in my life. Also seeing how unforgiving the TT course can be when something goes wrong

Other comments

Marshalling has taken over my life and racing gives me an adrenaline rush I couldn’t get from anything else. There are so many jobs to do that there is a place for everyone- whatever age and physical ability. You will always be made welcome- I cant think of any other thing I would rather do at a weekend than to have a good laugh with all your mates an get in and watch the racing for nothing- although you are kept busy at times…
